What We Do

Help with Furnishings:

We help people who are transitioning out of homelessness by providing them with furniture and household items. Recipients are referred to us by several agencies that help them obtain housing in Tempe, Arizona or just outside the Tempe borders.

Through donations and hard working volunteers we keep our storage units stocked with furniture and household items. Recipients meet us at our storage units where they select items for their new apartments. We then deliver these items and help our recipients to set up their new homes.

Deliver Food to People in Need:

Our Mobile Food Pantry operates 7 days a week, helping many individuals and families in need. Each night at 8:30 pm, volunteers pick-up donated food from Target. Typical items include: bread, produce and canned goods as well as cleaning products, diapers, formula and toilet paper. The items are then distributed to several locations in the east valley to approximately 150 people each week.

Items Needed

If you have items to donate, contact us at furnishinghope@cox.net or 623-455-5050 to arrange a pick up. We can pick up items in Tempe and surrounding areas and supply a tax receipt. We are always looking for the following donations:

Sofas, Love Seats, Stuffed Chairs & Recliners
Kitchen Tables, Chairs & Bar Stools
Coffee Tables & End Tables
TVs, Converter Boxes & TV Stands
Small Book Shelves
Mattresses, Box Springs & Metal Bed Frames
Dressers & Night Stands
Linens & Towels
Dishes, Pots and Pans, Glassware, Flatware & Utensils
Small Kitchen Appliances - Microwaves, Toasters, Coffee makers, etc.
Clocks & Lamps
$20 Frys, Safeway, Walmart and Target Gift Cards. These are distributed to individuals for groceries and other needed items.

Make a Donation

Help us to help others by making a financial contribution. Furnishing Hope is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and qualifies for the Arizona Working Poor Tax Credit. You can receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit of up to $200 per individual, $400 per couple on your Arizona state income.

Your financial donation enables our volunteers to collect, store, and deliver donated furniture to individuals in need and to provide assistance in the form of bus passes, phone, and grocery cards.
